Synopsis:
This video tape includes the discussion of: legal instruments important for elders; legal considerations for older adults raising grandchildren; centers for youth and families; financial options in Arkansas; kinship foster care; finances; transitional employement assistance; adoption subsidy; patient self-determination act; advance healthcare planning; Arkansas laws and older adult resources.
Objectives:
After completing this video tape, you should be able to:
- Describe the differences between living wills, advance directives, and durable power of attorney for health care;
- Explain at least 3 issues associated with legal guardianship and conservatorship;
- List safeguards that should be followed when older people choose to use different types of power of attorney; and
- Discuss some of the qualification aspects for Medicare and Medicaid eligibility in Arkansas.
