GI Motility in Older Adults
This free video teleconference (VTC) requires no participant pre-registration. Attendees to this VTC will receive 2 contact hours of CE credits.
Objectives
At the completion of this 2-hour video teleconference, the attendees will be able to:
1. Describe the pathophysiology and symptoms of esophageal dysmotility,
2. Evaluate these symptoms in the clinical setting,
3. Enumerate pharmacologic, endoscopic and surgical treatment of disorders of upper gastrointestinal motility,
4. Discuss multiple syndromes which constipate the clinical presentation of clinical constipation,
5. Identify the appropriate diagnostic approach to the constipated patient and
6. Review emerging treatments for refractory constipation with an emphasis on pharmacologic and behavioral treatments of the constipated patient.
