Vision And Hearing Rehabilitation In Older Adults

The target audience includes primary care, internal medicine, family medicine, geriatric specialist physicians, vision and hearing healthcare providers, nurses, pharmacists, dietitians and other health professionals interested in the prevention, management and rehabilitation of vision and hearing issues in older adults.
The goal of this program is to update practitioners with timely information on the advances being made in the management and treatment of hearing and vision issues and rehabilitation in older adults.

This is a one and half day conference that will address key issues in hearing and vision rehabilitation in older adults. Topics will include a review of the aging eye and the aging auditory system; innovative approaches to rehabilitation for elders who have visual or auditory impediments; and insight into research approaches that may have an impact on vision and hearing preservation in old age.
This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint sponsorship of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences College of Medicine and Geriatric Research Education and Clinical Center (GRECC) at the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System. The UAMS College of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
The UAMS College of Medicine Office of Continuing Medical Education designates this educational activity for a maximum of 7 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Each physician should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
This educational activity is provided by the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System (CAVHS). Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by Arkansas Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
Participation in this activity provides 7.0 contact hours of continuing nursing education credit.
Application for CME credit has been filed with the American Academy of Family Physicians. Determination of credit is pending. Application for CEU’s has also been made for dietitians, pharmacists, nursing home administrators and other disciplines.
