Dementia with Focus on Alzheimer’s disease: Intro to the Disease Process and Behavioral and Communication Issues
Overall, when Alzheimer’s disease is mentioned, people think that it is a disease of old age. Even though the greatest risk factor for Alzheimer’s is old age, up to five percent of people who have early onset Alzheimer’s are in the 40-50 age bracket. It is also not widely known that Alzheimer’s is a form of Dementia. Dementia is an umbrella term that encompasses a variety of types of dementia due to specific disease processes. http://www.alz.org/alzheimers_disease_what_is_alzheimers.asp
