COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This is a two-day meeting that will focus on nutritional interventions that may be effective in the care and management of chronic disease subject to rehabilitation strategies in older adults. Issues associated with frailty, impaired immune response, cancer, renal disease, cardiac disease, dementia and others will be discussed. The speakers will explore new approaches to common conditions associated with restoration of function, improved quality of life and rehabilitation.
The topics are timely and the speakers are expected to address the most up to date information that will be useful for all clinicians who care for older adults. This meeting is sponsored by the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System, Geriatric Research, Education and Clinical Center (GRECC) and the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.
